Sugar City 90.3 FM
🇰🇳 Saint Kitts and Nevis
A Saint Kitts station whose name points straight at the island's history: sugar dominated the economy for three and a half centuries and the industry closed only in the 2000s, ending the monoculture in a single decision. The station carries contemporary Caribbean music, local news and community programming for Basseterre and the surrounding parishes. Its season is Sugar Mas, which opens in the second half of December and runs into the first days of January — one of very few Caribbean carnivals tied to Christmas rather than to Lent or emancipation, with masquerade characters including the bull, the clowns and the moko jumbies on their stilts.
