A Bermudian contemporary music service from Hamilton, carrying chart hits alongside the reggae, soca and calypso that have a permanent place on the island's dial. Bermuda's cultural signature is the Gombeys — masked, costumed troupes in towering headdresses who dance through the streets to snare and bass drum, with a whistle directing the movement. The tradition draws on African, Caribbean, Native American and British military elements, survived long periods of official disapproval, and comes out at Boxing Day, New Year and public holidays.
