97.5 FM MAAD

A Guyanese commercial station carrying contemporary music for a younger Georgetown audience — soca, dancehall, chutney-soca and international hits. MAAD sits among the newer entrants to a dial that only opened up to private broadcasting relatively recently, and stations of its generation compete hardest around the Mashramani season, when the soca releases arrive and Georgetown fills with costume bands and float parades for Republic Day.
